Totally free of chemicals, this product works mechanically by blocking the breathing holes of red mite, lice and chicken fleas. It is a very fine dust from the fossilised remains of tiny primitive sea creatures called diatoms. There are NO chemical insecticides in this product. After cleaning use an old brush to force the dust into the nooks and crannies where red mite hang out after cleaning out, and add to dust bathing areas to keep house and hens free of bugs. Can be fed to the hens to keep them clear of internal parasites as well - add with a little oil to the feed. Works on dogs as well - comb it through their coat to get rid of fleas and ticks (we used it last night on our dog after a rabbit hole adventure left her covered in ticks).
